Jadon Sancho and Erling Braut Haaland had a hand in all five goals between them
Borussia Dortmund teenagers Jadon Sancho and Erling Braut Haaland both made history with goals in a convincing win over Union Berlin.
England’s Sancho became the only teenager to score 25 Bundesliga goals with a deflected strike to open their scoring.
Norway international Haaland is the first player to score seven goals in his opening three Bundesliga games.
He scored a tap-in to make it 2-0 and blasted in Dortmund’s fifth.
The 19-year-old January signing from Red Bull Salzburg had scored five goals in his first two German top-flight matches, both as a substitute before starting against Union Berlin.
He is already the joint 10th top scorer in the league, having played just 136 minutes, after scoring all his seven shots on target.
“It was pretty tough today, but it was also nice to play from the start,” Haaland told Sky Sports. “I have to get even fitter, I am still not 100%.”
The two youngsters were involved in Dortmund’s other two goals.
Sancho crossed for Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel to score the fourth. Former Manchester City youngster Sancho has hit nine goals and set up another seven in his past nine Bundesliga games
Marco Reus scored Dortmund’s other goal from a penalty, which was won by Haaland.
The previous top Bundesliga scorers before their 20th birthdays were Horst Koppel – who played for Stuttgart in the 1960s – and current Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz on 24 goals each.
Elsewhere, Bayern Munich went top with a 3-1 win at Mainz- thanks to early strikes from Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and Thiago as title rivals RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach played out an entertaining draw.
